The newspapers here didn’t show the fun Saranac Lake Winter Carnival parade. The theme of this year’s carnival was “Adirondack Cowboys”. The Adirondack Green Circle marched as the “Free-Range Wranglers” with signs identifying local farms that provide great food to the Saranac Lake Village Farmers Market. The Adirondack Green Circle has been a huge help for the farmers market. They made reusable bags from t-shirts and gave them away to shoppers (and showed folks how to make them). They have been strong promoters of local foods. And they have fun!
Michelle Asselin of Harmony Hills Farm provided two pigs and 6 chickens for the “float”.
