First Flowers!!

Well, not really. There have been little chickweed flowers, but those don’t count. The greens that were salad mix have started budding out, and the first ones have flowered (and have become “napini”).  Bees love broccoli flowers, and these are related, so I pulled the plants, stuck them in a bucket of water, and took them down and put them by the bees. It was warm enough that the bees were gladly out and about. It didn’t take long:

I used to have lots of violas in the hoophouse, but since salad mix is planted close together (and therefore hard to weed), I have been really diligent about weeding. The violas have been a casualty. I did find one in flower today, and moved it and a half dozen other plants over to the side where I will be able to enjoy them.
