” I dislike the thought that some animal has been made miserable in order to feed me. If I am going to eat meat, I want it to be from an animal that has lived a pleasant, uncrowded life outdoors, on bountiful pasture, with good water nearby and trees for shade.”– Wendell Berry
We feed certified organic feed and let our animals graze pasture during the growing season. They are moved frequently to fresh pasture with their portable pens.
They overwinter in hoophouses that let sunlight and warmth in, on deep bedding of leaves, pine needles, and wood chips that they scratch in, sunbathe in, and generally enjoy.
